Rehabilitative waterproofing

Many infrastructures like dams, canals, bridges and jetties are prone to different weathering mechanisms during their operation time. As these erections are designed for long service periods, reconstruction is seldom an option for these structures due to financial, environmental and engineering constraints. Refurbishment is usually required after a certain time. Many procedures are used to such rehabilitation works. Some of these methods are:

These methods require implementation of special equipment, skilled personnel, experienced designers, know-how and a durable, working system. In some situations, the solution is to demolish the whole or part of the structure rather than to rehabilitate it.
