Landfill engineering

Landfills are a growing necessity in developing countries. Building a lining system beneath the waste body has a great role in the environmental performance of these landfills. Old landfills and contaminated ground need a cover system to ensure that precipitation does not percolate the waste and contaminate valuable ground water. Geosynthetics create a sealing system lasting long into the future to protect the ground water. Regulations exist to achieve this.
